With his relatively young label "Living Mutants", Raphael Weinberg is one of the very few designers who has been surprising us with a fresh approach towards casual menswear.
Even though the number of new brands has increased in recent years, it is rather seldom that one actually detects new ideas. Most of what surfaces on the market has already been done before in one way or another - mainly by independent Japanese brands or one particular brand based in NYC. Surely, Raphael Weinberg's personal style is closely tied to labels such as Goodenough, Undercover or Neighborhood as well, however, as a designer he is trying to create a very particular look, to create a new story with this pieces.
Since our first presentation two years ago, Living Mutants has expanded carefully and with its first full-blown collection in Spring/Summer 2011 the label will definitely prove that it is possible to translate new ideas into wearable styles...
