| Many of the websites that are well-known in the fashion/design world today started out as private journals. Some stayed 'private', some turned 'commercial'. Together with our friends at Liganova, we are producing a series of small features portraying some of these people. We are starting out with an online-journal produced by Stephen Mann called "thenonplace.com". After having followed thenonplace.com for some time (with envy to the superb collection Stephen has amassed over time...) I've had the pleasure to meet Stephen last year here in Berlin. He had come over with good friend and partner-in-crime Zainab Jama to produce a story on Acronym for The New Order Magazine. We just met again in Paris where Stephen was helping the folks at Arc'teryx with the presentation of their upcoming A/W 2010-2011 collection. In-between this job and various photo shootings, Stephen was kind enough to give us an insight into his online project thenonplace.com. The feature which is produced in collaboration with Liganova, provides for an insight into how and why Stephen started thenonplace.com and will also give us an idea of what we might expect from him in the nearer future.
