| On September
10th, Stone Island hosted the official launch of the Autumn/Winter '009
'010 Shadow Project collection in their flagship store in London's Covent
Garden. The Shadow Project was born about two years ago in a discourse between the creative minds of Acronym, Michaela Sachenbacher and Errolson Hugh and Sportswear Company owner and creative director Carlo Rivetti. Having access to Stone Island's immense archive as well as its development resources, Acronym has been developing collections that fully reflect Stone Island's established design philosophy while simultaneously pushing it even futher towards the future. Calling the project Shadow underlines the intimate relationship and interaction between this work and the full body of the Stone Island collection. Fall / Winter '009 - '010 "The third season of Stone Island Shadow sees its linear progression in both depth and direction. Newly developed fabrics, styles, and graphical standards continue the projects original mandate, and demonstrate its ongoing relevance through styles whose intrinsic value is a direct result of their sophistication. The fertile theoretical and practical soil in which Stone Island is rooted continues to nourish the growth of unique and beautiful fruit." Their flagship store in Covent Garden served as a living display, showcasing a selection of items on actual models and - as a true highlight of the evening - a three-monitor-video screening of a brand new Shadow video.
