Falckensteinstrasse in Berlin is where Nike found the location for
Joga Bonito, their hommage to Brazil and Brazilian football.
The space covers the full 3rd floor of a former industrial building
and is the home to Os Gemeos' decorated houses, Enrico Salvadori's
photo-documentary, the movie "Ginga" by O2 Filmes, various
Nike Football products and the newly released Joga Bonito Bookzine.
Over the past three weeks we have been visiting Flackensteinstrasse
to document the stages of the renovation and set-up process. We saw
the boxes containing Os Gemeos' houses arrive from New York, London,
Paris, Milan, Tokyo, etc. where they had been built and displayed
during previous "Ginga/Brazil" events. We witnessed how
all houses were assembled to form a little Brazilian town, and we
documented Os Gemeos' work on the facade.
On December 1st Nike celebrated the opening of this incredible location
with the screening of "Ginga" the movie, the launch of the
Joga Bonito Bookzine and Court Force shoe, and a club night with Joga
Bonito contributor Gilles Peterson.
