Berlin, December 1st Last week saw the launch of Joga Bonito, the movie / book / sneaker-release event, an all-encompassing celebration and hommage to football - Brazilian style! The evening started out with a small get-together at the new location where key-figures of the project took time to explain their interpretations of Joga Bonito. Amongst the people present were Marcelo Machado, one of the directors of the Ginga movie, from Berlin's own football team "Hertha BSC", Marcelinho and Gilberto - both players in Brazil's national team, Gilles Peterson who started the evening by iD-ing his personal pair of sneakers, and Eno Polo, Nike's European Director of Sports Culture who gave all the background details. After this warm-up, shuttle buses brought guests over to Babylon movie theater where "Ginga" premiered. Loaded with snacks and (soft)drinks the crowd was put in the right mood through the visuals and soundtrack of the movie to go on Ginga-ing/partying afterwards... Back at Falckensteinstrasse, the location filled up and Os Gemeos ' Brazilian town was taken over quickly by the guests who later proceeded downstairs to Club 103 where Gilles Peterson and DJ-duo Rub 'N Tug had people moving until the early morning hours.
