The Characters |

Why are so many grown-ups into toys? Is our
society degenerating?
Phew, that’s a question… well I am certainly guilty of
living an extended ‘middle youth’ and sometimes I wonder
how dignified it all is! There are plenty of grown ups who have train
sets and kit cars, I’m not sure the fantasy world they inhabit
is any less childish than one inhabited by teddy bears and monkeys.
It’s mainly men who are into any of this kind of stuff of course,
but that’s a different question. .
Could you see your characters being mass produced?
Actually 500 of my Fat Boys are being mass produced in China
for Howies clothing company. I was amazed by the whole process. I
warily sent off my original to the far east, expecting them to do
a dodgy re-sculpt so that it would work with their production methods.
Instead they cast directly from my original, so naturally I had no
complaints about the form. Then I thought I was bound to be disappointed
by the paint job. But when I got the prototype it was fantastic.
