How did you first get to Beinghunted? Were
you looking for something?
A friend recommended I send some pictures of my work to Beinghunted.
So I got to know it through wanting to get my own work seen rather
than looking for someone else’s.
Is there anything in particular that you are
looking for or collecting?
I am a natural collector, it runs in the family. Given half
a chance I would collect toys, drawings, matchboxes, thimbles, bits
of fluff… you name it… but the impulse must be resisted!
I read this story by John Updike recently about someone who horded
stuff. The point was that they were in denial of their own mortality.
I got burgled recently and it was a good reminder how pointless it
is to get hooked on possessions. But I feel a bit hypocritical saying
this when my work is only adding to these mountains of stuff.
Do you have any favourite spots, cities, etc.
where you like to go looking?
I’ve made quite a few trips to the American South visiting self
taught artists. I’ve usually come home with something from each
one. I also spend guilty hours on ebay and occasionally buy various
bits of tat. |
